Under the double pressure of energy source and environment, both developed country and developing country are developing and exploiting new energy sources like a raging fire. China had started somehow earlier on developing and exploiting new energy sources.
In 1974, Prime Minister ZouEnLai himself had taken a great consideration on the national energy sources, which demands the nation to take investigation and to make a feasibility development on solar energy source. In 1975, the state council Mr. Den XiaoPing held a conference about exchanging solar energy experiences and ideas from all over the nation. From 2002 to 2005, Photovoltaic industry in China had appeared a great developing tendency, and which made china one of the fastest developing country on the Photovoltaic industry in the world. In 2002, China started to build an electricity project for the villages of the western provinces, which invested a total amount of 26 billion Yuan, and Photovoltaic harness reached 16.5 MWp for the area, which greatly advanced in developing Photovoltaic industry and its market in China. This project is the present biggest solar photovoltaic electric power generation construction to supply the villages without electricity in the world. In resent years, some international photovoltaic cooperation has followed up, through which China photovoltaic industry will be promoted into new steps.
Through expanding the use of photovoltaic technique products, it has partially solved the problem of the population without electricity. Photovoltaic industry in China has got out of the difficult situation over the continuous ten years, and started to grow fast. Up to the end of 2005, solar photovoltaic cell has produced over 100 MWp per year in China, and its harness parts reached to 400 MW. Meanwhile, China has become the biggest producing country of courtyard light and other photovoltaic products.
On January 1, 2006 RENEWABLE ENERGY LAW of People’s Republic of China has brought into force. This offers a relative large environment to develop renewable energy source industry and photovoltaic industry, and its market is also prosperous.
